February Technique Challenge

Hello! It's hard to believe that we are already at the end of our challenges for February. Spring may be on its way next month, but we are being super organised by getting our Christmas cards ready. I do hope you will join us! For this technique challenge, we would like to see some stencilling on your festive card.

Your stencilling could be a background for your stamping or colouring, or it could be the main feature. We can't wait to see your Christmas or winter themed cards. Please read our guidelines carefully before submitting your stencilled creation. Happy crafting! April x

Winners - January Stash

Oops!  I'm running a bit late with this post.  Thank you to all those who played along with my Foiling/Gilding stash/technique challenge last week.  It was very much a challenge, but those of you who played created wonderful cards.  Without further ado:

WINNER

This ornament is simply fabulous with lots of shimmer from the foiling.
Love the crisp layout.  Beautiful work.

HONOURABLE MENTION

This is a wonderful angel with all shades of gold in the gilding flakes.
Absolutely beautiful.

Congratulations to you both - pick up badges from the tab at the top of the page and display them on your blog.

Thanks to everyone who played along with my challenges in January, you got off to a good start on building this year's stash.  And before I go, a quick reminder of April's first challenge in February. She had a super sketch for you to use.  Make is clean and simple, distressed, layered, elegant - the choice is yours.  We look forward to seeing your cards.

February Sketch Challenge

Hi! It's April here. Welcome to the first of our February challenges - a sketch challenge.

We can't wait to see your interpretations of the sketch. Please remember it must be a Christmas or winter themed card. You don't need to include a Christmas tree if you don't want to, as any festive element will be great! You could also flip the sketch. We just ask that we can still recognise the original sketch within your design.

We love seeing your amazing cards. I hope that you will feel inspired by the creations of the DT:

Winners - January Theme

I did enjoy seeing all your lovely cards for my Christmas Candles/Lanterns theme last week - the thumbnail display was very pretty.  As always, you guys made it very hard to pick a winner. Indeed, it was so hard, that we actually had a three-way tie for the top spot.  So, without further ado, here are the winners:
WINNERS
(in order of submission)

This is such a cute Christmas card.  One layer too!
Love the mice choristers around the Christmas lantern.

We really like the candle and stand, and the lovely halo behind the candle.
Clean, simple and just beautiful!

There is so much detail on this card.
The Christmas lantern is so beautiful and we love the pine detail too!

As we had three joint winners, there are no Honourable Mentions this week.

Before I go, I'd like to remind you that there's still time to take part in this week's challenge. I've picked FOILING/GILDING and at the time of writing, it looks like it's a real challenge too! There are only three cards on thumbnail.  Come on!  Give it a go - it really is very easy and looks so lovely. If you don't have foil/gilding flakes in your stash - I'm perfectly happy to accept the use of foil peeloffs!!!

You've got until midnight (GMT) Friday 5th February to join in!
